Evan is an anchor, reporter, host and storyteller-- a journalist who takes his news seriously and himself not seriously at all. His decade on the desk and in the field in Lubbock has made him the choice of thousands when it comes to local news coverage.
In West Texas, Evan has proven to be a journalist with a wide range. He leads KLBK's breaking news coverage, is a go-to on election night, and his investigative stories into fraudulent small businesses and general contractors led to a new station hotline for viewers to share their own bad experiences. Evan led KLBK's coverage of a local terror arrest in which President George W. Bush was one of the targets. He also covered the president's return to Texas from Midland in early 2009. Evan has been recognized by the Associated Press for his feature writing. Most recently, Evan co-wrote and hosted a 30 minute special on the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK that aired in more than three dozen markets across the country. He then covered the Dallas commemoration event live from Dealey Plaza, doing nearly 70 hits for stations from Fresno to Memphis to Syracuse.
With a passion for newswriting, Evan loves working with young journalists on the storytelling process. His news philosophy is simple: timely, accurate reports that are engaging and meaningful to the viewer.
Evan has also reported and anchored for news stations in Montana and Missouri. Before that, he interned in Denver, where his immediate family still lives.
Evan lives in South Lubbock with his wife Julie and his dog Bear.
